The name, Knot 4 Time, originated on a sunny summer day when Nate and I were visiting South Haven several years ago.   We were lounging on a bench by the pier watching the sailboats and yachts motor in and out of the marina which is a favorite pastime of ours whenever we are in South Haven.  We find pleasure in observing the various names of the boats and always admire the creativity associated with the names.  On this particular day, we were conversing about how relaxing and refreshing it must be to be on “sail time” and not worry about how fast things need to get done. Nate and I were avid CrossFitters (I still am ), and time was always of the essence since many of the CrossFit workouts are “for time” which means get the work out done as fast as you can. Nate, being especially witty and creative, proclaimed, “Not for Time would be a great name for our boat.”  Then I said, “Knot, as in sailboats!!”.  We both laughed and agreed that the name was perfect.  It was on this day that, Knot 4 Time, was born.  The meaning is even more relevant today because we both have stressful, time-constrained jobs that constantly cause us to feel hurried and uptight.  We long for the days to be aboard Knot 4 Time where our only worry will be the weather.
